It is now past time to implement UN Resolution 194: The United Nations General Assembly adopts resolution 194 (III), resolving that “refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbours should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date, and that compensation should be paid for the property of those choosing not to return and for loss of or damage to property which, under principles of international law or equity, should be made good by the Governments or authorities responsible.” Palestinians now in Gaza need to return to their land and homes that Israel stole during the Nakba. Israel created the problem of two million refugees. It is now morally incumbent on Israel to house and feed them and provide healthcare to all of them and education for their children, who have now been out of school for over a year. It's absurd to suggest Jordan, Syria, and Egypt take in refugees when they did not create this crisis. Israel created it and needs to clean up after itself.
I heard the Arab states created it . Told Muslims to get out of Israel as they were going to bomb it when Israel first became a free state. So they moved . Some stayed and did not fight in support of Israel so Israel kicked them out. None if the Muslim countries would allow them in thus the start of refugees in Gaza and West Bank. Blame the Muslim communities for creating this problem and not attempting to live in peace.
Your history is incorrect. Zionist terrorist gangs (the Irgun, the Alexandroni Brigade, etc.) and the early version of the IDF ethnically cleansed 750,000 Palestinians (not all Muslim -- some Druze, some Christian) from what is now Israel during the Nakba (1947 to 1949). Zionist terrorists and the IDF also massacred about 15,000 Palestinians, in part to try to scare the rest away. These groups also told Palestinians to "temporarily move" for "security reasons," and then never allowed them to return. Veterans of the Zionist terrorist groups and the IDF have admitted in interviews that they committed many atrocities against the Palestinians, including rape and murder. They also robbed Palestinians of their possessions. In many cases, Palestinian homes were bulldozed, but some were simply stolen and repurposed. For example, the village of Ein Hod, now an artists' colony, still has its original Palestinian cottages, which were stolen from the rightful inhabitants. The village mosque is now used as a pub. Palestinians were forced over borders into neighboring countries. On the long, forced marches, they had to stop at IDF checkpoints, where Israeli soldiers would pilfer their jewelry, watches, cash, and other belongings. If they tried to get back to their homes to recover some of their possessions, Israeli soldiers would murder them. This is now well-documented and has been since Teddy Katz, then a student at Haifa University, began researching the topic and interviewing Zionist veterans in the 1980s. Your sanitized version is not true.
Somewhat accurate-ish, but misleadingly incomplete. All of this happened AFTER the Palestinian leadership rejected the UN mandated 2 state partition and launched attacks on Israelis. Meanwhile, the nascent Israeli leadership accepted the partition. So, yes, Israeli extremist militias committed atrocities against Palestinians. But the Palestinian leadership (and their Arab allies) created the initial conflict in rejecting the UN's action and attempting to extirpate Israel. As usual, plenty of blame to go around and no clean hands in this one.
You can't "both sides" this. UN Resolution 181 was not only unfair to Palestinians but was implemented in a way that the UN had not envisaged. The UN did not anticipate that the IDF and Zionist terrorist gangs would embark on a campaign of genocide to reduce the Palestinian population within Israel's borders. It was assumed that Israel would administer the land, much as white South Africans ruled South Africa during apartheid. The UN issued Resolution 194 to try to undo some of the harm done by Israel's ethnic cleansing. To this day, under international law, Palestinian refugees are allowed to return to their old homes/land or receive compensation. You can't pat Israel on the back for accepting the resolution that favored it while rejecting the many that don't. By the time the Arab states declared war on Israel in 1948, the genocide had already begun.
