Scenes like this make me sick. Hamas are animals.
Would you prefer this sort of scene: https://x.com/NTarnopolsky/status/1885623716769362291/photo/1 It shows a Palestinian captive being released with his wrists shackled above his head and wearing a bracelet saying, "The eternal people does not forget." The Israeli captives released look relatively healthy and, in many cases, say they were treated well in captivity. The Palestinian captives come home with the marks of torture and abuse on their bodies. Many are raped in captivity. They are routinely starved, humiliated, and beaten. But you only care about the Herrenvolk, not the true victims who have been massacred and ethnically cleansed for decades. You and your racism disgust me. Constantly screaming, and behaving, "but tit for tat"!, hardly contributes to solutions, especially when the Palestinians invariably come out the ultimate losers in any confrontation. If the Palestinians acted like civilized people, they could claim some moral high ground. Instead, they're left with "but the Israelis are treat us like we treat them".

Do you not see the irony in this? The pro-Israel crowd has been screaming "1,000 eyes for an eye" as Israel continues the same genocidal tactics it adopted during the Nakba. The Israelis treat their captives far worse than Hamas treats its own. We know civilian captives in Israel are raped, beaten, and humiliated by the IPS with the full approval of much of the Israeli population (including government ministers). Remember Dr. al Burch, who was raped to death in Israeli custody? Israelis held by Hamas have generally been treated far better than Palestinians held by Israel. It's appropriate, in the context of the picture of a healthy, reasonably well-fed Israeli captive being released, to draw that contrast. Israel is extraordinarily abusive to its captives, and the OP implied that only Israelis deserve to be well-treated. Why do you hold Palestinians to a much higher standard than Israelis, if not for blatant racism? Why are they not allowed to defend themselves or try to recover what has been stolen from them? You seem to think they should just capitulate and accept the Israelis as Herrenvolk, but you must know such an expectation goes against human nature. As for the Palestinians coming out the "losers," the opinion of many people has been changed by this war. I was one of those who used to blindly support Israel. This conflict has led me to understand the brutality and racism of the Israeli regime. Many of us see Israel in an extremely negative light now as a racist regime based on ethnically cleansing and brutalizing indigenous people and on religious fundamentalism and a literalist interpretation of the Hebrew Bible.
