This whole thing is about due process. He was sent to a prison in El Salvador without being given due process. He needs to return here so that he can go through the due process. The Supreme Court voted 9-0 that he needs to be returned for God's sake. Do you think that the SCOTUS does not understand the laws of this country? Every single one of them voted the same way. Let that sink in. People can make all kinds of conjectures about his gang membership or whatever, but the fact remains that he was ILLEGALLY sent to El Salvador. He was not "deported". He was merely sent there based on no evidence. This is ILLEGAL. It is FAR more important to hold our government to account than any details of this case. If we let our government do this, we are looking at a government that can do whatever it wants with people. No day in court folks. You are just sent into a black hole somewhere.
Even accepting all you claim, let’s address the part in bold: How? How exactly must Trump “return” him, when El Salvador has refused to release him? Do you want Trump to send in The Marines to get him back? Moreover: Garcia is a citizen of El Salvador and he has no legal status whatsoever here. He has no visa to travel here. Before you mention TPS (which expires 9/2026), TPS is ONLY for aliens who are present in the USA; TPS cannot be substituted for a visa and TPS is not available for aliens outside the USA. Practically: in what legal manner can Garcia be brought into the USA? (even assuming his country lets him go).
Oh please. No one believes that El Salvador has “refused” to return him. Bukele is doing exactly what Trump wants him to do because he is being paid $8 million and it’s obvious that if the US really asked for him back we could easily get him back. As the right wing judge on the 4th circuit put it, this case is just about the principle that you don’t get to illegally kidnap people from the US and then claim they lack any rights because they are outside the US. If you disagree with that you are an unAmerican Fascist.
That is quite the unfounded conspiracy theory you have there!
