Dear OP - I’ve read all of your remarks. You clearly don’t want to contact the very few churches that may conduct Seders. You want to publicly shame all Christians for something they do not do. Please try to find a good therapist -or even a learned rabbi -and have him read what you wrote here. Your behavior is not normal. You want to argue over and over about something that is not there. And even if “there” does no harm but you are unwilling to contact those few churches and tell them it is appropriation. Most rabbis will disagree with you. That is why Jews are encouraged to bring Christians and friends to both nights to share the history of Exodus with them. You argue here, on and in, because you seek attention. A good therapist or rabbi may be able to help you. That change alone will help you in your relationship with family and friends.
I'm the OP. I would laugh if what you wrote wasn't so sick and cruel. I don't know why you think most rabbis would disagree with me. I have discussed with two rabbis (aren't all by definition learned?)-- mine and a good friend from childhood. Both are disgusted by Jesus-centric seders. I truly do not understand why Christians would WANT to do something so offensive! It really was a PSA -- like "know better, do better." Sadly, its not very few churches. And Jews no longer have to sit silently while the majority culture behaves in ways that are hurtful. That may be upsetting to you, but it's true. My behavior in posting a PSA is not normal? For me it is. For a Jew it is. We talked at seder on Saturday about the continuing persecution of Jews (it's a normal part of the seder FYI) and Christian seders were discussed at length. (Spoiler alert: no one was a fan) Maybe what you consider normal is really just Christian-centric? Open your eyes and your heart. It's a sick form of gaslighting to pathologize a minority's feelings about their culture, telling me I need therapy because I am offended by Jesus-centered seders. That is truly sick.
