She struggled with leaving Hannah behind the first time too. But June’s first attempt to escape was more self-interested, she didn’t want another baby taken from her, and since Hannah was already gone it was easier to leave her behind and convince herself that Hannah would be okay. After what just happened with Serena, June’s new motivation is not so much her own safety but rather saving her daughters from what their future will be in Gilead. Sending Holly with Emily accomplished the goal of saving Holly, now saving Hannah too is more important than saving herself.[/quote]
