Gaslighting: manipulate (someone) by psychological means into questioning their own sanity

The right says "I want secure boarders and for everyone to obey the law"
The left says "you are racist! You are a xenophobe!" ( riot, burn stuff, smash other peoples private property) "if you (the right) showed me some understanding and feel my pain I will stop burning stuff and stop hating you!"
The right thinks Am I crazy? I'm not a racist? 
The right says "Lets work this out.... you know we can keep the good stuff in Obama care... Maybe we not need to build a wall..."
The left says "I can't be your friend on facebook and I can never talk to you again"
The right thinks Am I crazy? I thought they said hey wanted me to be aware of their pain and understand them.

In the spirit of attempting to communicate with the other side. In my head this conversation goes:

The right says "I want secure boarders and for everyone to obey the law. [b]Illegal immigrants are ruthless rapists and murderers, mexicans and muslims especially. We need to build a wall to keep mexicans out and start a registry of all muslims so we can track their every movement![/b]"
The left says "you are racist! You are a xenophobe!" ([b]left protests, a small portion of which are violent but the vast majority of which are peaceful[/b]) "if you (the right) showed me some understanding and feel my pain I will stop hating you!"
The right thinks Am I crazy? I'm not a racist? 
The right says "Lets work this out.... you know we can keep the good stuff in Obama care... Maybe we not need to build a wall..."

The right says "It won't be so bad, stop whining and come together. We accepted Obama!"
The left says "But Obama didn't go around insulting the entire country for a year and half before being elected! And you didn't actually accept him you emboldened your congress to obstruct him at almost every turn!"
The right says "god you whiny little millenials who got too many participation trophies growing up need to just stop being so dramatic!  You lost! Accept it![/b]
