you don't get it. i can't sympathize with someone who voted for someone who stands for racism, xenophobia, homophobia, etc. you have voted for someone who doesn't believe in the things I think "make america great" - like the first amendment, diversity, etc. why am I not allowed to say that i'm not good with that? why do you think it's manipulative to express my viewpoint?  i really feel like this country has elected someone not unlike hitler and it's horrifying to me that so many of my fellow americans voted for him. would you offer sympathy to someone who supported hitler?  that's how it feels to me and that's why I can't offer sympathy.[/quote]

No.  YOU don't get it.  You want to believe that a vote that doesn't agree with yours automatically makes someone worth demonizing.  They're not all racists, xenophobes or homophobes just because they don't prioritize the same way that you do.  People lead complex lives and yet electoral decisions ultimately come down to winner take all.  You're bitter and want to lash out, but it won't help you learn from your side's mistakes.  They didn't agree with you.  They don't like her.  Many of them don't like him either, they just dislike him less.

Let them paint everyone into a box and keep losing....I mean most people facing a loss like this might try to listen to other side and see where the democrats message missed the mark.  Here folks just lash out and continue no holds bar spewing of "you are fascist, misogynist, bigot etc".  While I'd like to see country come together if the segment of the left continues to keep blinders on, ignore valid reasons people voted for Trump and continue the rhetoric that lost them the election so be it.
