Both are known primarily as party schools for California UMC not good enough for a UC. If you want to pick a nice Arizona public school in a nice city, it would have to be Northern Arizona in Flagstaff. NAU > AU > ASU probably in that order. And none of these Arizona schools are as good as any UC, including UC Merced. Frankly, if you are looking at any Arizona schools you should just be looking at your own in-state options instead. Paying $30k+ out of state tuition is generally not worth it unless your own in-state options are bad and the alternative is only other top western publics: CU-Boulder, UC (Berkeley, LA, SD, SB), and UW. I wouldn't even include UO in that list.[/quote]
