I had three kids between ages 32 and 36. Married five years before that and we saved a lot of money to give us a kid nest egg. It really helped. Became a GD at 62. My BIL became a Dad at almost 50 via adoption and I can tell its a strain. At 65 he has to listen to Justin Bieber and deal with the angst of a 15 year old girl. Plus he'll be over 70 when he is done paying for college. That stinks. Best age to have kids is around 28-35. Get your career going before hand, be young enough to deal with it and when you hit 55-60 become an empty nester and get on with the next phase of your life. So, 50 is too old to have kids and too young to be a grandparent.
Shut up. That's your timeline, hooray that it worked out perfectly for you.
50 is too old for women to have babies. Tinkering with nature doesn't make it better.
In your opinion. Please add that line. It is not my business when people decide to start or finish their families so I don't judge anyone who got their baby at 50. If they have the resources and can provide for their kid and a guardian/estate plan in place, more power to them. I do judge the people here who judge those folks, though. This is very much a MYOFB situation.
Not that PP but I think that people are talking in generalities and from their own POV they can not imagine themselves having a new baby at 50. For *ME* a pregnancy at 50 would be extremely hard and the sleep deprivation of a newborn - no way. But I agree with you that everyone is different and what is undoable to me may very well seem quite possible to you.
