its understandable that Chris Steven's family would feel this way, he was a close personal friend of Hillary and supported her politics. Unfortunately, there are other victims who were there to protect him whether they supported Hillary and her politics or not, and given the statements from their families, they were not Hillary supporters, or Obama. They lost their lives too and it does matter and it DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE. A family totally sympathetic to Clinton and her campaign are just not credible, we will not forget that she and Obama swept this under the rug to protect a presidency. Fifty percent of this Country will not sweep it under the rug, and if it were your son on that roof that very long night, you would not forget either.
That's what I find troubling is Hillary supporters never put themselves in the shoes of the victims. It's not just she lied to their families but she and Obama didn't send any help for 7 long hours. I just can't imagine what horrible last few hours those four people endured. And Hillary minions have the gall to say that's what the four victims signed up for and Sean Smith's mother was playing politics??
You mean Panetta didn't send help. The "help" at issue was DOD resources. And every report has concluded they could not have been deployed in time.
What I find so shocking is folks' failure to understand the distances the military needed to cover to reach Libya. The US does not have a base in Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, etc. Even if our country wanted bases in those places, we can't afford it due to money President Bush squandered in his debacle in Iraq (as well as his botched war in Afghanistan). President Reagan, in concert with Sen. Helms, gutted the State Department. Of course, sh*t will happen when an entity's resources are depleted.
Shocking? Really? "Hicks told congressional investigators that if the U.S. had quickly sent a military aircraft over Benghazi, it might have saved American lives. The U.S. Souda Bay Naval Base is an hour's flight from Libya." http://www.cbsnews.com/news/diplomat-us-special-forces-told-you-cant-go-to-benghazi-during-attacks/
I'm inclined to fully credit the testimony of General Dempsey before the Senate Armed Forces Committee duting which he noted, among other things, that US tactical assets were not on heightened alert and thus not in a position to respond in a timely and effective manner. But I guess you guys know better.
This is a good article explaining how difficult, and dangerous, a rescue attempt would have been, even if forces were closer: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-dangerous-delusion-that-the-americans-in-benghazi-could-have-been-saved/2016/06/29/056e93ca-3e2b-11e6-84e8-1580c7db5275_story.html All these armchair military strategists annoy the heck out of me.
I guess we could have traded some dangerous terrorists for them.. Paronto says otherwise. He was on the ground. Was the Post reporter?
I don't think you understand what goes into making these types of decisions. If you care to share your qualifications that would prove otherwise, please do. Otherwise maybe it's time to accept the findings of multiple investigations and move on with your life.
Spent years married to one of the most elite Rangers/Intel Analysts. He was one of 8 that was trained to do what he did. The rest of those men were ushers at our wedding. This is not my opinion - this is theirs.
