Obviously you live in a bubble. As a 20 year government attorney it is darn near impossible for me to all of sudden switch to a private firm. Also, it's not that easy for SAHM to transaction back into the workforce either. Have you been paying any attention to the hiring market over the past 10 years? So sick of people who think everyone's life should be as simple as the one they have.[/quote]

I don't think government vs. big firm and sahm vs work are a whole lot smaller decisions than the age you have kids or whether to go to graduate school.  There are major challenges and life-style impacts to all of the above.  In any event, the private schools are okay with government workers and sahms -- they have just have their FA practices for dealing with that.  Of course, they really love full-pay people and celebrity government officeholders.[/quote]
