Here's the thing though:   most of the "high end privates" are much more competitive entry.    This means that the rare 4 year old who does get into Maret/Sidwell/Beauvoir will definitely not be with all of her friends from 20815/20015.   But more importantly, it means that [u]her mom and dad [/u]will not be with all of [u]their[/u] friends from CCMD/CCDC.

This [i]guaranteed[/i] dilution of the posse is an unappealing prospect, given that the parental social scene is half the point of choosing BS.[/quote]

There's little if any interest among the BS crowd in schools like Maret or Sidwell. Or among those at Mercy or St Barts of DeChantal or any of the other Catholic grade schools in the area.

These Independent schools are in a different world as far as they are concerned. A world they know or care little about an have no desire to visit.[/quote]
