My faith in the Lord is strong enough that it doesn't need to be taught in school. It's also not so limited that I can't simultaneously believe in God and understand that evolution is the mechanism through which I evolved. It took me a long time to see that, OP.[/quote]

Well, someone taught you about faith, right?

your parents?  your Sunday school teacher?

You didn't suddenly wake up and say, "Wow!  Some all-knowing and very powerful entity, who has always existed, created the world."  Someone put that tale in your head starting at a young age.  Some people grow out of fairy tales; others believe them until they die.

Those teaching Sunday school were brainwashed at a young age to believe in these tales.

To you (and them), these stories are taught at truths.

People are offended when posters mention Santa and the Easter Bunny. But what's the difference?   And they're even offended when these Christian tales are compared to pagan beliefs.

Stories were created to help ancient beings make sense of the world.

My answer to your inane question: I neither know nor care. I didn't claim any of what you wrote; you wrote those words. I have no problem with my faith or with science. God exists. We evolved. I get proof of one and have faith in the other.
