PK3:
45 seats offered - 5 IB w/sib admitted, 40 IB admitted. [b]25 waitlisted from categories that cannot be IB for Brent [/b](i.e. WL IB w/sib accepted on through to proximity)
PK4:
4 seats offered - 4 IB accepted. [b]14 waitlisted from categories that cannot be IB for Brent [/b](i.e. WL IB w/sib accepted on through to proximity)

In the interests of fairness to the original poster (and perhaps of use to the folks entering the lottery for PK3), Ludlow-Taylor runs pretty far down into its waitlist for both PK grades or at least did two and three years ago. Tyler Traditional generally goes through most or all of its waitlist. But Peabody's doesn't budge all that much, and there are many IB families clamoring to get into PK. So, now, they don't generally welcome inbounds Brent kids, at least for PK3.[/quote]

In fairness to the rest of us who are sick of BS on DCUM, three years ago in the DC schools is a lifetime. And if the poster knew anything about LT or Hill schools they'd know that their impression is stale. Also, and maybe I'm just prickly and reading into your post, but there is no category for "inbounds Brent kids" other than at Brent. Everywhere else they are "OOK kids", no different from (gulp) poor black kids IB for Ward 8 schools.[/quote]

Honey, I'm the poster you're talking to, and I've been through the PK lottery rodeo for the past 3 years and watched the PK waitlists move as well as spoken with many other families about their experiences. i am also quite well versed in lottery procedure. What exactly did I write that was wrong? Of course, there is no special category for inbounds Brent kids at other schools. You are prickly without a cause![/quote]

Not sure how what I wrote wasn't clear. But I'll do it again if you need me to. You defended a post that was incongruous with facts. And you defended it based on the fact that at least "two or three years ago" it was accurate. Which is, as I said in my original response, a lifetime in Hill schools. If you have ever been through LT you know the lower floor doesn't even look like the same school as the 3rd floor.

What probably set me off about your post is the Brent-centric nature of your post. Funny how you seem to know a little bit about Peabody but not much about the current state of LT or anything outside your area. Which doesn't stop you from chiming in and then coming over the top.  You don't have to know anything about Brent. And you can be wrong. But jeez, lady. The post to which you replied literally provided the data that showed the OP was simply wrong, notwithstanding the confidence with which it was written. Your understanding of the current landscape is wrong. And it isn't helping the poster who asked the question. If you have no idea what you are talking about then how about just not talking?[/quote]
