Agree, smaller! I'm not seeing quite as many 2 year olds at Turtle Park, Lincoln Park etc. as last year, but I think it will still be a big group.

What ever happened to the subject of getting into Brent for PS3 next year? Some of us would like to know what the chances are for your run of the mill in boundary resident for a 2-3 year old. Does anybody know if this year's crop of toddlers is smaller or bigger than last year's?

And while it may be the case that the cheater could afford a house in-bound for Brent if they sold both their primary residence and rental property, they chose not to do so -- perhaps for the purpose of hedging bets for middle school a few years down the road. Ludlow admitted zero non-IB PK3 kids. There are not any OOB kids attending PK3. Do I need to explain what "zero" means? Or does your use of "honey" change the meaning?

P.S. DCPS kept the waitlists in-house this year. Schools that used to be able to game the system and pull people off of waitlists without following the rules effectively lost their discretion. (Looking at you Logan, SWSG, LT)

Honey, again, you are prickly without a cause. Lottery results are very different than who actually ends up getting into a school for the school year. Some waitlists move; others don't. My child was at Ludlow-Taylor for the past two years. I know what it looks like.

In the interest of full disclosure there were in fact 4 OOB PK4 kids admitted.

In the interests of fairness to the original poster (and perhaps of use to the folks entering the lottery for PK3), Ludlow-Taylor runs pretty far down into its waitlist for both PK grades or at least did two and three years ago. Tyler Traditional generally goes through most or all of its waitlist. But Peabody's doesn't budge all that much, and there are many IB families clamoring to get into PK. So, now, they don't generally welcome inbounds Brent kids, at least for PK3.

In fairness to the rest of us who are sick of BS on DCUM, three years ago in the DC schools is a lifetime. And if the poster knew anything about LT or Hill schools they'd know that their impression is stale. Also, and maybe I'm just prickly and reading into your post, but there is no category for "inbounds Brent kids" other than at Brent. Everywhere else they are "OOK kids", no different from (gulp) poor black kids IB for Ward 8 schools.

Not sure how what I wrote wasn't clear. But I'll do it again if you need me to. You defended a post that was incongruous with facts. And you defended it based on the fact that at least "two or three years ago" it was accurate. Which is, as I said in my original response, a lifetime in Hill schools. If you have ever been through LT you know the lower floor doesn't even look like the same school as the 3rd floor.

What probably set me off about your post is the Brent-centric nature of your post. Funny how you seem to know a little bit about Peabody but not much about the current state of LT or anything outside your area. Which doesn't stop you from chiming in and then coming over the top. You don't have to know anything about Brent. And you can be wrong. But jeez, lady. The post to which you replied literally provided the data that showed the OP was simply wrong, notwithstanding the confidence with which it was written. Your understanding of the current landscape is wrong. And it isn't helping the poster who asked the question. If you have no idea what you are talking about then how about just not talking?
