Archdiocese says they are in negotiation with Latin.
People have called Latin in tears to get into the middle school. I dont think this has anything to do with kids staying on for HS. I think it has to a with demand for the Latin model. I'm guessing if they can replicate the middle school then they will expand into a second HS after that, and so on.
Latin will never expand with the current Board and leadership: Martha who is leaving and Diana who is staying. Why bother? Current parents don't want it and outsiders don't have the time or inclination to go directly to Scott, Naomi and the full board at DCPCSB. Unless and until a major donor (like Citybridge which is hung up on Title I only) or the PCSB asks them to expand, forget about expansion. A single donor with purpose and $3 million could add 600 new seats in DC for each of the next 30 years. That's a lot of kids.
