That's when we put our kid in . Anyway, we love Martha but a school is NOT one personality..the idea behind Latin - a classics education in the city - can be replicated. Our child went 5th -12th and loved it . Is in the early phases of college, and loving that too.

10 years ago when Latin started they had open spots in the fall and were advertising to get students to fill the spots. How times have changed.

I would send my kids to Latin but oldest was shut out. Would love to see an expansion do that my younger kids would have a chance.

I think Latin has a.model that people want replicated. KIPP has done well on a national scale, Basis is making a stab at it. Latin should explore how to create new campuses.

Latin will never expand with the current Board and leadership: Martha who is leaving and Diana who is staying.

Why bother? Current parents don't want it and outsiders don't have the time or inclination to go directly to Scott, Naomi and the full board at DCPCSB.

Unless and until a major donor (like Citybridge which is hung up on Title I only) or the PCSB asks them to expand, forget about expansion.

A single donor with purpose and $3 million could add 600 new seats in DC for each of the next 30 years. That's a lot of kids.

I have a hard time believing this... But if so, go Latin! Our child did middle and HS and is doing very well. If Latin replicates, awesome. And St..Anns is a beautiful campus.
