From the Houston Chronicle article: In Harris County, she was arrested in May 2010. Harris County court records show she was charged with driving under the influence and for possessing a small amount of marijuana. The DWI charge was later dismissed and she spent 30 days in jail for the possession charge. She was also charged in 2009 with possessing drug paraphernalia, for which she received a deferred adjudication. On her Facebook page, Bland posted several photos and videos about her experiences and the struggle African-Americans face dealing with racism. In one posted in March 2015, she discussed struggling with depression and post traumatic stress. Seems she was a troubled woman with a history of substance abuse. But yeah, keep speculating about TX and officers....
She smoked pot and she was mad about racism? That's your evidence? I literally cannot believe you'd bring the stuff about posting about racism to this thread, and then try to link it to her being "troubled." Yes, being a PoC in the United States is stressful. Racism is stressful. Knowing that you could get pulled over and murdered in jail is stressful. That doesn't make her troubled. It makes her someone who was paying attention.
LOL - are you serious? SHE is the one who discussed HER OWN depressing and said she had PTSD. She had multiple drug arrests. I'd say that's a troubled individual.
She was arrested twice on drug-related charges. The first time she was charged with having drug "paraphernalia", which for all we know could've been a freaking bong, not actual drugs. The second time, she was in possession of a small amount of pot. These incidents occurred 5-6 years ago, when she was in her early 20s. So basically all we know from her criminal history is that she is someone who smoked pot (& drank) years ago when she was 22-23 years old, a description that fits about half of the (very functional) adults I know.
Yep, I also know lots of people like this -- and they're not on the verge of suicide. Don't know enough about this case to form a strong opinion yet on whether she killed herself but the circumstances seem very fishy and the case needs to be investigated by an outside authority.
