Congratulations on being content with a bad situation. The reality is that people are not going to move from Capitol Hill. The interest rates were very low when the many of us late-comers came to the table. We paid a lot for our homes and are not okay with the middle schools staying so-so. So your idea that it's over is wrong.
Just because I have decidedcto accept a bad situation doesn't mean I am okay with it. Many of us tried to fight the middle school battle several years ago, whether openly or behind the scenes. In the end, there is no consensus on the Hill. Henderson, DCPS and Tommy Wells took their cues from CHPSPO, which was dominated by the Cluster. Brent was effectively told to go f@#k itself and be happy with a dual feed to Jefferson and Eliot-Hine. DCPS is good at making promises. The follow through is what is lacking. Thankfully, charters solved the conundrum for many of us. Mis it any wonder that with the exception of Brent and Maury, Capitol Hill Elementaries continue to be majority OOB by a wide margin.
I wish people would stop thinking CHPSPO equals Ward 6. Anyone else want to join me in the Ward 6 Education Network? To hell with CHPSPO - they need to stop thinking they speak for all Ward 6 parents. They don't.
