Each school has their own audition requirements - read them closely.. Some require resumes, head shots and all will specify exactly what type of monologues she will need. Many will have an acting coach for these in the summer before summer year

Most apply to 10-12 theater programs and she needs to be open to just getting into a few programs and going to wherever she gets in even that school is in Chicago and not nyc for instance.

All this being said, this summer my DD said she decided to pursue her acting as an extra cirriicular and pursue her other passion.. Writing/ screenwriting ( this is her true talent writing plays songs and short stories since I can remember so DH are quite relieved) so all the research was not a waste of time. She found a school that met ALL of her needs- applied early and got in before Christmas. We took the scenic route but she got there!!![/quote]
