that won't address the problem. They won't be spending Christmas in a hotel.

Really it is a childproofing issue, not a gun issue. I had the same w/my parents over TG. told them a few times they needed to get a gate for their stairs. We show up--no gate. They don't want to install one and affect the resale value of the house (?????)  We pointed out to them the holes from the previous owner's gate that didn't lower their price, but it wasn't until we made them run interference between the toddler and the stairs for 45 minutes that they got it. Gate installed the next day.

Unfortunately with guns you can't demonstrate the risk that simply, but really it is about them just not remembering how into everything kids can be,and not thinking the way they are doing things is unsafe.[/quote]
