I'm wondering what would happen if my 9 month old get the H1N1 shot. I've been on and off about the vaccine. We are flying to South America in 4 weeks and I have to make the decision this week.
It is a tough decision to make. My son did get hives from the H1N1, I believe, however, the bendryl every 4-5 hours is taking them away. He has bad asthma when he gets a mild cold, so I do not regret getting him the shot. My worry of him getting the flu and having complications exceeds my concern for the hives right now. If you have a fairly healthy 9 month old with no other health complications, simply keeping him/her away from sick people and frequent hand washing may do the trick. My daughter also received the H1N1 vaccine and had no side affects.
