My boy is in elementary school and I do believe he's the only Asian in his class. There's 1 hispanic and 1 Indian aside from my son who might be considered the minorities in class. Otherwise, everyone else is white. We're from the West Coast so it was a little odd seeing how un-diverse the class was. Wasn't a major concern...just not what we're used to.

My son comes home happy 99% of the days since school started. He has always played with only a handful of kids vs everyone and anyone so I did have my concerns when he started and if he would adjust. He's still a fairly shy/quiet kid in school but I know he's learning a lot and enjoys it.

I picked our neighborhood as it's relatively safe and fairly convenient to work. So I'd say prioritize what's best for you.[/quote]
