Ev-ee? Really? Like heavy without an H? People will just think you are weird for pronouncing the kid's name wrong. Just go with Eve-ee or don't use a nickname at all.
I totally disagree. "EV-ee" is a very, very common pronunciation for the nickname of Evelyn the way you're pronouncing it ("EV-uh-lin). If you write it out, people might mispronounce it, but that's not a big deal.
I am sorry but I am the original poster and I have never, ever in my life met anyone named Ev-ee. I have met Eveleyn's whose nicknames were Eve or Eve-ee, but never Ev-ee. Sounds ridiculous to me, sorry. Where do you people live? Is this the hot new name in Bethesda or something?
I'm confused. Your OP makes it sound like you want the nickname to rhyme with heavy. Then in your second post you say it's "ridiculous." ??? I know a girl who's nickname Evie rhymes with heavy. It's cute and suits her. I think "Ee-vee" sounds not great.
