Those lunch ladies have no control over the kids. They yell, scream, and threaten things they don't back up. They need a new crew in there and a principal that backs them up and a phone calls to parents to come get their kids for the day, if it doesn't resolve. Then they eat in the office meeting room for a week before being allowed back in the lunch room.
You can't send kids home for a day in MCPS without very specific reasons. It is considered a suspension.
Okay, then isolate them for a week for lunch and recess. No one to laugh at their stupid antics. Lunch room should be a priveledge.
RP is over crowded. The lunch room sometimes has no free tables. Where would you isolate this child in the lunchroom? If you have several kids that are acting out at lunch, I don't think there's enough rooms in the school to separate each child to eat alone, plus you'd have to staff each room to supervise the child. The only thing they seem to be able to do is give the kid a bad note, which the parent is supposed to sign. IMO, it's the parent that should be disciplining the child. I wonder if these kids get disciplined at home for the note or do the parents just lecture them, sign the note and that's the end of it. I've had both my kids get a note from the lunch lady, but only once. They both got disciplined at home for the note. I'm not saying the staff are great. I'm just saying the parents are equally, if not more, responsible to make sure the kids behave at school, whether in the class, lunch or recess.
