[/quote] +1, my sibling who excelled in school and social life is now in her 50s, overweight, borderline depressed and earns little more than minimum wage. My parents were very hard on her. But this anecdote does not at all discredit the 'asian' model of parenting - the tiger mom conveys to the child how capable they are, and that's a good thing.[/quote]
