It was written in 1944, people. When people DID judge a woman for having premarital sex, and for wanting to have it! Times were different then, and the song reflects those times. Remember Wake Up Little Suzy? 1957. She didn't even have sex with the guy but just fell asleep and "her reputation was shot". Also not a rapey song, though.
The line is "our reputation is shot," not "her reputation is shot." It doesn't seem date rapey at all because they went to the movies and fell asleep. Plus, there's a line in which he sings, "our goose is cooked." That's not a sick song, that's squeaky clean teenagers worried about breaking curfew.
You are correct about the line being "our reputation is shot" but you and I both know that in 1957, if a boy and a girl stayed out till 4 AM in what I am assuming was his car... it was HER reputation that would be sullied, not HIS. Going back to my point that back then, a woman did stand to lose her reputation for having sex or even for appearing to want to have it. Even with the guy she was going to have sex with! Guys didn't like girls who seemed to eager. This song is about a woman playing along.
