Be hit by a distracted driver. I in no way think that the driver is not to blame but I do think that we are sometimes to lax in teaching out kids safety rules. I have neighbors that let the kids run back and forth in the street never looking for cars. I know that as a driver I must be cautious of pedestrians and other cars but some pedestrians act as if they are totally oblivious even when they are walking in the middle of the street. I guess my main point is that there are terrible drivers, there are distracted drivers and that is one thing, but raising a generation of kids who do not have the street smarts to know that they have to interact with cars and not ll drivers are looking out for them.[/quote]
