Okay to return something to a store not knowing if that is where it originally came from, but not okay if you bought it somewhere else, yet it's sold at another store.

Big retailers make such a killing on their items, not to mention designers making 20000% mark ups on their merchandise because poor, underpaid, should be in school, not earning enough, probably breathing in deadly chemicals, Chinese Indian Vietnamese Mexican children are locked away in some factory sewing leather together with their calloused little fingers to make shiney boots for Americans at a salary of 25 cents a month, then the retailers turn around and sell the boots for $200 a pop, yet NO, it is UNETHICAL of the consumer to exchange merchandise to a different retailer. Very bad of the consumer because the retailer and designer are suffering. Really?

So self-righteous in the grand scheme of things. The only person or entity losing out here is the third world worker who made the boots for what is likely 3 cents.

Saks and Nordstroms are making out just fine with their exchange of equal merchandise.
