My kid is got into a 10% admission school, but there are many other schools he could have gone to that would have been equally good fits. Widen your lens. Don't fixate on one college. That's what they want you to do but it doesn't serve your kid. This is your sign to seek many other alternatives in case this one doesn't pan out for the reasons you suggest. Also, don't do ED as you'll be in direct competition with other legacies, donors, recruited sports - all of who get locked in during early round and take up spots.[/quote]
