I had a colleague who used to lecture me about "bi visibility" and truly I don't get it. Why does it have to be visible? If you wind up in a same sex relationship I think it's important that's accepted and no one is discriminated against, so that's different. But if you are cis and in a hetero marriage, why is it important that the rest of us "see" that you are bi? It just feels like attention seeking behavior to me at that point, like you need people to understand you're not just some boring straight person. You get that there's a massive selection bias factor here, right? I'm a bi woman married to a man. I don't tell people at elementary school pickup or at work that hey, I like the ladies too, because I'm married and there is no reason this would come up.
