Yeah its just not in a great location these days. Just stay to yourself and keep track of your surroundings.
This is an absurd comment. It is in the inner city. You need to be aware of what is going on just like you would be walking around other inner city areas. To argue the area isn't better than 10 or 20 years ago, it just not being honest. My son takes the metro home all the time. If it is late at night usually after 8 (but only if it is dark), we pick him up. Some of that is safety some of it is basic quicker at that point. If you are concerned about the neighborhood then Gonzaga is probably not the right school for you, as a parent. And, yes, the locals know to leave the Gonzaga boys alone.
But you proved the point that you need to be aware of whats going on in an inner city. So why is absurd if you literally said the exact same thing.
I know DCUM isn't about reading comprehension but maybe you should start. The point of "these days" implies it is worse than it has ever been which is an absurd comment. Which isn't true. So my comment is a push to recognize that being in the city requires common sense but then I added that qualifier "to argue the area isn't better than 10 or 20 years ago." See now it makes sense.
Meanwhile you still said you need to be aware of your surroundings, like I said to begin with. The city was not looking good until the Federal Government cleaned it up. Once they move on, it will be back to the same old inner city crime that ALL inner cities have, like you previously stated.
