The reason is simple. The middle school starts very early. And some school bus also arrives very early. By dropping off the kid can sleep little more.

Yes, this is it. DD is in HS now but Carson bus came super early. Middle schoolers need more sleep. I made DD take the bus anyway but I can understand how some parents might make the choice that allows the kid to get another 20-30 minutes of sleep.[/quote]

It’s simple really: OP is entitled. OP thinks as long as the kid is in the building by 7:25, the kid shouldn’t be marked tardy. OP doesn’t understand why the front door is still open until 7:25. OP thinks the front door should be locked at 7:15 so people know they will be tardy then.
