Easy answer: school bus

Line for security is for bus riders too. There is chaos. My child is perpetually late even though bus arrives at 7:10-7:25. It’s an administrative failure.

My child takes the bus every day and does complain about the line for security but has never been late to class. If the bus is late, they're not tardy.

You should consider dropping your child off 15 minutes earlier.

The reason is simple. The middle school starts very early. And some school bus also arrives very early. By dropping off the kid can sleep little more.

Yes, this is it. DD is in HS now but Carson bus came super early. Middle schoolers need more sleep. I made DD take the bus anyway but I can understand how some parents might make the choice that allows the kid to get another 20-30 minutes of sleep.

Yes, that explains why the kiss and ride line is so long in the mornings, but it doesn't explain why OP refuses to drop her kid off 10 minutes earlier and instead complains about how he's tardy all the time.

It’s simple really: OP is entitled. OP thinks as long as the kid is in the building by 7:25, the kid shouldn’t be marked tardy. OP doesn’t understand why the front door is still open until 7:25. OP thinks the front door should be locked at 7:15 so people know they will be tardy then.

So in a nutshell, OP is an idiot.

Door opens 710 and closes 715?

2000kids are to clear security in 5 min?

You can drive them to the bus stop if you want to see them off. If your child is within walking distance, have them walk. It builds character having to learn to follow a schedule and be timely. If you want to continue to use kiss and ride, drop off at 7. This isn’t complicated.

You are obviously not a Carson parent.

You’re right, I’m not. I was pointing out that this was the policy at every middle and high school and that it’s not exclusively punitive to Rachel Carson. Your follow up shows that every student has access to a bus, so there is an easy solution.

To include leaving 5 minutes earlier.

Easy answer: school bus

Or leave and drop off 15 minutes earlier

But then what if every parent tries this...then you're looking at the same ridiculous situation, only 15 minutes earlier.

Which is why PP suggested the school bus.

But, then they would not be late.
But, agree about the school bus. Problem solved.

I can almost be certain OPs kid is a boy. The entirety of this entitled behavior at school with no limits and no sense of need to enforce rules is soft mothers with do no wrong boys. Carson is having to be so strict because the boys aren’t in class, the boys are destroying bathrooms, the boys are pushing each other constantly in hallways. Glad someone is trying to force some order and make rules clear.

I for one love to drop off my kids at the kiss and ride in the dark when its below freezing!

It builds character. Since they only wear shorts and a sweatshirt, its no different than a refreshing cold plunge, while they wait 20 minutes for the security line to start moving.

Is there some rule that states they must only wear shorts and a sweatshirt? Natural consequences for dressing so inappropriately for the weather.

They could dress properly. They could take the bus. Imagine that!
