Love that they kept the Wellness Day, but scrapped PTCs. (Eyeroll....) Way to keep accountability to an absolute minimum, DC teachers' union. Can't wait until my DC heads to her older siblings' charter...
Ha, our charters doesnt. even have PTCs at all
Yep, they are going to be in for a rude awakening when they realize charter schools don’t just bend over and cater to parent’s every whim.
My charter flipped the PTCs that would have happened during snow-mageddon to virtual and now the parens and teachers are demanding we keep a virtual option going forward. Which we will, because it makes sense. Not every parent/teacher demand is a whim. For the charter that doesn't have PTCs at all, do they have something else? Teacher office hours, dedicated time for check in calls, anything?
NP but also at a middle school charter that doesn't have PTCs (likely the same one) -- three things happen: 1. there is a lot of communication to the parent about grades (report card comes home every two weeks and a very thorough printout with every single grade at the trimester) 2. they want students to address issues first, so they have "office hours" after school every week when students are encouraged to stop by 3. if parents still have an issue, they offer "parent hours" before school that need to be booked. But the lack of PTC is by design, they want to student to start taking charge of their education.
