Because we like to give parents a comprehensive update. Many schools do not offer alternate times so you can date the day off. Personally my school has us come in regardless if we are finished or not.
Also I barely get any time to plan as it is so having to try to schedule on my own planning time sucks.
So the alternate scheduling isn’t available to all teachers?

Yep, they are going to be in for a rude awakening when they realize charter schools don’t just bend over and cater to parent’s every whim.
My charter flipped the PTCs that would have happened during snow-mageddon to virtual and now the parens and teachers are demanding we keep a virtual option going forward. Which we will, because it makes sense. Not every parent/teacher demand is a whim.
For the charter that doesn't have PTCs at all, do they have something else? Teacher office hours, dedicated time for check in calls, anything?
