You know what else they have done?  They have done every superintendent selection in secret behind closed doors.  There is no reason for that.  Lots of school districts have an open hiring process for superintendents.  They hold forums with the candidates and let the public ask questions.  Large school systems do this.  There is no excuse for MCPS not doing this.

The BOE holds a secret selection process, the candidates are never known (stop saying no one applies the names are never public) and the BOE votes in secret.

Remember during the Magruder shooting McKnight was interviewing in secret BOE meetings in College Park.

Remember when the BOE selected someone who immediately withdrew when his name was announced because of public concerns about inexperience?  Remember the one that immediately withdrew because of financial issues?   [/quote]
