It's a data point. I'm pretty sure it does little on its own, might serve to confirm or call into question other aspects of the application, might serve as a differentiator where applications are otherwise similar, but only at the margins, really.

Reminds me of an interview I heard a few years back during Covid when everyone was test optional. It was a T10 AO saying that generally speaking, they could almost always predict a kid's test scores by looking at the rest of their application.

Like, the kid winning music competitions and robotics medals and debate trophies? They had a good sense of what that student could do without looking a test score.
