With headcount freezes, layoffs, oppressed wages and outsourcing, is there anything left for our children?
At many points in the past, parents have thought the same things. Everything works out. It just does. We think we live in important times. We might but probably not. We live in a time of change but probably not that great of a change when viewed over the long term. Stopt he anxiety and live life smartly. To the PP below -- this is why you should be a humanities major. To understand the world in context. And to learn to not overreact.
100% this. Humanities majors as well as Stem majors are doing great from kid's ivy. The outcomes are amzing even in the downturn. Plus every friend we have with kids who graduated in the past 3 years from T20 LAC or T40ish university has gotten a job or gotten into professional school. it's not that dire. calm down OP.
