Now, with the expectation that women can have it all, the public persona of the "have it all" woman is still that of a thin woman. This persists in retail, in pop culture, in film and television. A woman who is not thin rarely sees a positive picture of herself reflected back at her from popular media. The go-to insult for ANY woman, despite her accomplishments, remains one of two things: "you are fat" or "you are ugly."

Why are women obsessed with being thin? The better question is why are people in general so obsessed with women and their appearance?[/quote]
