As someone who's lost 70-75 lbs (and maintained it), I don't understand the point of being thin. That's kind of useless. I wanted to be fit and strong (and am). To me, that's much more valuable, worthwhile, and attractive.
I'm thin and also fit and strong, and I think I am attractive. Also I don't think any of those things are relevant to my value as a person or are more or less worthwhile than what other people might spend their time on. Some people cannot get "fit and strong" in the way you are talking about because of disabilities -- these people can still be valuable, worthwhile, and attractive. Also some people do not expend as much energy on exercise as you and I do, and what they spend their time on instead may actually be more valuable and worthwhile than working out. A person could be out of shape and unhealthy but they could make beautiful and important art that changes lives. Or they might invent something makes life better for millions of people. Being fit and healthy is a laudable goal and it's good for you, individually, and benefits the people closest to you. But it's not essential to living a good or meaningful life.
