No, for the one millionth time:  If you attend one of many highly selective private high schools, Chicago is a relatively easy admit for student in the top 40% of the class.  I do not know why but this is the case but it is.  If you attend MCPS or FCPS then it appears to be just as difficult as NU or JHU or many Ivies. 
But for whatever reason Chicago is the one top20 school that preferentially LOVES private school kids. At many privates, it is a much easier admit than it's neighbor Northwestern. From the schools my kids attend you literally need a 3.9 for NU (making it HYP level) and can get into Chicago with a 3.65.  I have the data in front of me.

This will forever be a point of misunderstanding on here because the discrepancy is so large.
