This is the most idiotic take from this board in years and knowing DCUM that's saying a lot. Suggesting pedestrians waive a flag as they cross the street is a laughable "solution" for protecting them from dangerous operators of two ton murder machines. THEY aren't surrounded by two tons of steel. Heaven forbid we require operators of said two ton murder machines actually operate them safely around vulnerable road users.

I didn't suggest this -- it already exists at the Kensington location and places in Chevy Chase.    I am a very slow walker, and I think I would find it useful to be able to wave a flag to make sure drivers are paying attention to me.

Of course, this is a supplement and not a replacement for a safe, well-engineered traffic intersection.   Only a revolting pile of human waste would think otherwise.[/quote]
