A car hit and killed a 16-year-old boy near the intersection of University Boulevard and St. Paul Street in Kensington Sunday night. The busy roadway has been problematic for a while. There’s been a lot of accidents at this intersection - University West and St. Paul. The main issue is speeding. People are going 50 or 60 on a 30 MPH road. A speed camera was recently removed from the area. Ever since, motorists have been speeding through. Residents of the community are asking to have the speed camera reinstalled. Speed cameras are moved to different locations regularly. Do what you can to get this reinstalled!
Public officials ALWAYS take out speed cameras, installed for "safety," when drivers adapt and quit speeding near the cameras, and then, the cameras no longer bring in enough money. Once that happens, everyone starts speeding again. And that leads to tragedies such as this.
