The most serious lacrosse players in this area head to Military Road these days. College placement is second to no one in this area.
I wouldn't say that the "most serious" players go to to Military Road. they are deadly serious, but I know plenty of 2027 players and families at other local schools (Landon, for example) who are equally serious - some would say that the take themselves too seriously. But SJC does get the prize for the HIGHEST NUMBER of serious players. I don't know how Coach Speaks does it, but he has a knack for collecting way more players than could ever see the field.
Significant factors are cost of tuition, relatively low academic admission requirements, relatively easy academic curriculum, and a demonstrated success of sending lax bros to very strong colleges. It's a pretty good formula.
Admissions standards for lacrosse players at Landon, Prep, Gonzaga, Good Counsel, PVI are not especially stringent. Academic offerings are similar if taking the regular classes. Prep and Landon advanced offerings are better in IMO, but the differentiator is price and someone easier to get to from southern MD/Anne Arundell. Let’s be real.
