Even if Lauryn figured out who the perpetrator was before they were arrested, I’m sure she was in denial and survival mode. She was so young and the texts were so graphic her mind may have been trying to protect her. She was and still is a child. I do not believe for one second Lauryn was in on it.
I don't think anyone thinks Lauryn was in on it. She may have known about it at some point though. If she knew about it or suspected it, she knew enough about her mother to know the woman did what she wanted. Lauryn couldn't have gotten her to stop. Lauryn's lack of reaction at the reveal was weird. It did seem she wasn't surprised at all.
Parents of the the girl with long dark hair, the cop and his wife, said explicitly that they thought that the husband and the daughter were in on it.
NP. Those people were nutso! Their daughter was definitely a bully and while she wasn't the perpetrator in this situation, I think it says a lot that pretty much everyone in the town thought it could've been her. Even Owen, her so-called friend, said rather explicitly that she was not a nice person. And the parents seemed mean too.
+1
