My parents are uneducated immigrants; my sisters have just an associates degree. But, these folks do sound like trash. Saying racist things is bad enough, but the addictions, abusing POA... definitely trashy behavior. My family members may be uneducated, and at times, have stated some racist stuff themselves (old country immigrants), but they would never abuse the POA for a family member, nor do they tolerate addicts.
