DACA is one of the most successful programs in immigration history.   These childhood arrivals had to be in school or full time jobs.  They had to be high school graduates if they were over a certain age.  They were vetted for any criminal history.   They have to check in and pay a fee every two years I think.

The program is not taking new applications. Some facts about DACA .

Nearly all DACA recipients—99%—have graduated from high school
,at least 49% have attained at least some college education.

DACA recipients has increased their median income sevenfold since the first year in 2012, DACA’s  has contributed well more than a hundred billion dollars to the economy as well as tens of billions in combined taxes. Many are now building families too: nearly half (44%) of DACA recipients in this cohort have married, and half (50%) now have at least one child in the home.

Texas, in its usual foul nasty ugly hateful way is trying to take this temporary protection away from DACA recipients.   This is a group who have blended well into our country, are producers, pay taxes, are consumers, workers, something we can’t say about all of the American born people.   And they are bilingual!    Let them focus on not letting anymore in illegally.  [/quote]
