DACA is one of the most successful programs in immigration history. These childhood arrivals had to be in school or full time jobs. They had to be high school graduates if they were over a certain age. They were vetted for any criminal history. They have to check in and pay a fee every two years I think.
The program is not taking new applications. Some facts about DACA .
Nearly all DACA recipients—99%—have graduated from high school
,at least 49% have attained at least some college education.
DACA recipients has increased their median income sevenfold since the first year in 2012, DACA’s has contributed well more than a hundred billion dollars to the economy as well as tens of billions in combined taxes. Many are now building families too: nearly half (44%) of DACA recipients in this cohort have married, and half (50%) now have at least one child in the home.
Texas, in its usual foul nasty ugly hateful way is trying to take this temporary protection away from DACA recipients. This is a group who have blended well into our country, are producers, pay taxes, are consumers, workers, something we can’t say about all of the American born people. And they are bilingual! Let them focus on not letting anymore in illegally.

Barack Obama is not your emotional support president
As protests against ICE spread around the country, and Americans wake once again to the reality of our brutal deportation practices, people clearly long for Obama to be the permanent cheerleader-in-chief. Just one problem: Obama himself advanced the draconian systems his successor is now employing so gleefully. How does this make sense?
People seem to have forgotten that during his administration, Obama fully earned the title “deporter in chief” by removing more people nearly 3 million in all from the country. Combining his first term with the beginnings of his second, Donald Trump has a long, long way to go to top that mark.
And no, these were not all immigrants convicted of crimes. Between 2014 and 2016, nearly 40,000 cases involving families with children were closed through the Obama administration’s “rocket docket” fast track — 70 percent of them processed without legal representation. Children were forced to represent themselves in court. The Obama administration was sued for detaining families as a supposed deterrent to immigration.
In fact, Tom Homan, the current White House border czar, was appointed by Obama. Yes, the Homan who said in March: “I don’t care what the judges think.” In 2015, as head of ICE enforcement and removal operations, Homan deported so many people that Obama gave him a presidential medal.
And for those facing militarized local police while protesting ICE: Have we forgotten Ferguson, Missouri? Standing Rock Sioux Reservation? Under the Obama administration, local police received hundreds of millions of dollars in surplus military equipment under the federal 1033 Program. Despite an executive order to limit these transfers after the unrest in Ferguson, investigations showed that local police were still receiving transfers, including armored vehicles.

Most illegals are legal immigrants /were legal at one point. Their visas expired making them “undocumented/illegal”.
How many did Obama deport? Plenty. More than Trump.
I personally think trump wants to beat Obamas record hence the ICE escalations
You're changing the subject. I am talking about what just happened. Trump has imprisoned at leastr 50 LEGAL immigrants who have committed no crimes in Venezuela. Innocent men who have done absolutely nothing wrong are in a concentration camp. And the Trump administration is doing nothing to fix it even thought everybody knows!
Obama never did that.

Whatever his sins and I know there are - every President has them, you still have to keep up appearances and Obama"s success is his capability for grace and ability to communicate effectively. Trump is a horrific slime ball who has contributed nothing. He's all about Trump and this is really where the difference matters most.
I'm not a huge fan of Obama but I do think he was a good leader and had the right intentions in doing his job as best as he should do. It may not have been good or right but his approach is what I respect.

If he didn't listen to Stephen Miller, he would be on the winning side of this issue, but since cruelty is the point, it's not the number of people being deported, but how horrible you can be.
This. Obama made churches, schools and hospitals off limits. Miller wants to see young kids being dragged out of schools with all the little kids crying.
Obama avoided family separation while Miller seeks it.
Obama didn’t violate court orders and grab people without due process and then ship them to a death camp. Miller wants anyone brownie dead.
Obama didn’t revoke legal status from immigrants, Miller did.
Miller is a weak, evil, impotent, little weasel. He’s the guy that ends up being caught as a serial killer with cat and human body parts in his garage freezer. Neighbors will all say he seemed a little off!
Obama put kids in cages and executed American citizens with drones without a trial.
But it’s all peachy when a president drones an American citizen and his kids without due process because he’s on our team, right?
You are misremembering the response to the drone strikes. Is that intentional?
I don’t seem to remember nationwide protests and UMC liberals protesting on street corners and decrying authoritarianism because a sitting president was drone striking American citizens without due process. Care to refresh everyone’s memory?
Just for the record, I started two threads criticizing Obama for his drone murders:

Are you willing to criticize Trump in equally harsh terms or are you simply playing "whatabout" games?
