I want healthcare for all American citizens but it will never happen as long as we have endless immigration because there is no way to account for costs. It isn't right that people come across the border, sometimes already pregnant, and have multiple children in order to avail themselves of free services that US citizens cannot access for themselves despite paying taxes for a lifetime. I would love to offer a good life to everyone who wants to come here but it's not realistic. The current system is unsustainable. The people complaining here are mostly wealthy posters who are immune to the problems the rest of us deal with due to illegal immigration. They have access to great healthcare, private schools and gated communities. My kids attend schools that are literally falling apart while a ridiculous amount of money is spent on programs to support illegal immigrants in our pyramid. Every year my property tax bill goes up. We pay out of pocket for our healthcare and the costs are insane. Also, it isn't just poorer immigrants who abuse birth right  citizenship. There are wealthy mothers from all over the world who come to the US specifically to give birth. Not wanting to subsidize all of this abuse with our tax dollars does not make us terrible people. No other civilized country in the world has the immigration issues that we do.

In reality, undocumented migrants actually contribute to local revenues through various taxes. Nationwide, undocumented immigrants paid approximately $10.4 billion in property taxes in 2022.

Look to rising hospital and drug prices, an aging population with chronic conditions, and administrative costs for the reason for increased healthcare prices. The Undocumented use a ton of medical services. Simply go to your local hospital and look around. All free to them.  Meanwhile actual citizens are billed thousands of dollars to get diagnosed with the flu. [/quote]

I read an article about Kilmar Abrego Garcia's wife. She had two kids by another man but it was not clear from the article whether he was still involved in her their lives. Then she got pregnant by Garcia. There was some documented abuse. One or two of the children have special needs. However, the article went on to say that Garcia had gotten a union sheet metal worker job and things were looking up. There was "talk of having a fourth child". This is where my sympathy ends. Is it responsible to have four kids when your status is in limbo? Is it responsible to have more kids when you already have special needs children? How do you properly support four children on a metal worker salary? How do you properly support the emotional and educational needs of four children at all? There is no responsibility or planning or birth control because the US taxpayer is will pay for schooling, special services, medical care and food subsidies. I know, I know, they pay taxes but they also take far more from the system than they pay in. That is a fact. I would be a lot more sympathetic if the immigrants used birth control and did some family planning. We already have an underclass in America that we need to support. We don't need another. [/quote]
